Cartoonist Ahmed Kabir's family fears he will lose his hearing permanently. He has a sore on his ear and is still bleeding. He may have to carry a hearing aid for the rest of his life. The teenager's brother Ahsan Kabir said this.

The teenager had earlier said that he was picked up from his house and kept in an unknown place for 69 hours. There he was slapped hard in the ear and blood came out of his ear. Ever since then he has had ear problems.

The teenager was jailed for 10 months under the controversial Digital Security Act. He was released on bail on March 4. He got out of jail and described the horrible torture on him. Sitting in his lawyer's office, he said he was interrogated by showing several cartoons he had drawn in an unknown place. At one point, an unknown person slapped his ear hard. He became unconscious for some time. Later you realize that blood is flowing through the ears. He was then beaten with a steel stick. His legs still hurt a lot. Can't walk properly.

His family is considering taking legal action against those involved in the torture. Their lawyer, Barrister Jyotirmoy Barua, told Samakal: I don't want to say anything more about it now. '

Writer and journalist Ahsan Kabir, the teenager's brother, told Samakal, "We are focusing on the teenager's speedy recovery." Her diabetes is now somewhat under control. The legs still have problems. Orthopedics specialist will be shown for this. In addition, he does not see much of the glasses that the teenager is currently using. The glasses have to be changed by showing the eye doctor in a new way.

Ahsan Kabir said that two very close friends of the teenager are staying with him. They are helping her to regain her mental strength. The teen's corona test was also done on Saturday. Some more physical tests will be done.

The teenager is still far away from his wife and daughter. Ahsan Kabir said that he (teenager) has talked to all the family members. Her daughter will be taken to her when she recovers completely. His daughter is now out of Dhaka with his wife. Hopefully, the teenager will recover soon and leave the hospital.

After his release last Thursday, the teenager sat in a lawyer's chamber in Dhaka and spoke to the media. At the time, he said, he was apprehended from Kakrail's home on the afternoon of May 2, 2020. Although he did not know who took him, he went to RAB custody on May 5 and found out that a case had been filed against him under the Digital Security Act. Although he did not know where he was in the middle of the day, he complained that he was repeatedly tortured at that time. He also said that he did not get proper treatment in 10 months of his life.

At that time, Kishore said, when his blindfold was opened at the RAB office, he saw writer Mushtaq Ahmed there. He also told her about the horrible torture.

The teenager said the smell of urine was coming from Mushtaq's body. He was also picked up a few days ago and tortured. Her genitals were given an electric shock. During the torture, his stool came out. He asked Mushtaq to clean it with the magazine on the floor.

The next day, on May 8, they were handed over to Ramna police station, Kishore said. There he met Didarul Islam Bhuiyan.

বাসা থেকে তুলে নিয়ে অজ্ঞাত স্থানে ৬৯ ঘণ্টা আটকে রাখা হয়েছিল বলে আগেই জানিয়েছিলেন কিশোর। সেখানে তার কানে প্রচণ্ড জোরে থাপ্পড় দেওয়ায় কান থেকে রক্ত বের হয়। এর পর থেকেই তার কানে সমস্যা।

বিতর্কিত ডিজিটাল নিরাপত্তা আইনে ১০ মাস কারাবন্দি ছিলেন কিশোর। গত ৪ মার্চ জামিনে মুক্তি পান তিনি। কারাগার  থেকে বেরিয়ে তার ওপর ভয়াবহ নির্যাতনের বর্ণনা দেন। নিজের আইনজীবীর কার্যালয়ে বসে তিনি বলেন, অজ্ঞাত স্থানে তার আঁকা বেশ কিছু কার্টুন দেখিয়ে জেরা করা হয়। একপর্যায়ে সজোরে কানে চড় মারে অজ্ঞাত ব্যক্তি। এতে তিনি কিছু সময়ের জন্য বোধশক্তিহীন হয়ে পড়েন। পরে বুঝতে পারেন, কান দিয়ে রক্ত গড়িয়ে পড়ছে। এরপর ইস্পাত বসানো লাঠি দিয়ে তাকে পেটানো শুরু হয়। তার পায়ে এখনও অনেক ব্যথা। ঠিকমতো হাঁটতে পারেন না।

কিশোরের ওপর এ নির্যাতনের সঙ্গে জড়িতদের ব্যাপারে আইনি ব্যবস্থা নেওয়ার কথা ভাবছে তার পরিবার। তাদের আইনজীবী ব্যারিস্টার জ্যোতির্ময় বড়ূয়া সমকালকে বলেন, 'কিশোরের ওপর নির্যাতনের ব্যাপারে আইনি ব্যবস্থা গ্রহণের বিষয়টি আমাদের সক্রিয় বিবেচনায় রয়েছে। এর বাইরে বিষয়টি নিয়ে এখনই আর কিছু বলতে চাই না।'

কিশোরের ভাই লেখক ও সাংবাদিক আহসান কবির সমকালকে বলেন, কিশোরের দ্রুত সুস্থ হওয়ার দিকে আমরা মনোযোগ দিচ্ছি। তার ডায়াবেটিস এখন কিছুটা নিয়ন্ত্রণে। পায়ে এখনও সমস্যা আছে। এর জন্য অর্থোপেডিকস বিশেষজ্ঞ দেখানো হবে। এ ছাড়া বর্তমানে কিশোর যে চশমা ব্যবহার করছেন, তাতে খুব একটা তিনি দেখতে পান না। নতুনভাবে চোখের ডাক্তার দেখিয়ে চশমা বদলাতে হবে।

আহসান কবির জানান, কিশোরের খুব ঘনিষ্ঠ দুই বন্ধু তার সঙ্গে থাকছেন। তারা তার মানসিক শক্তি পুরোপুরি ফিরে আসতে সহযোগিতা করছেন। কিশোরের করোনা টেস্টও করা হয়েছে শনিবার। শারীরিক আরও কিছু পরীক্ষা-নিরীক্ষা করানো হবে।

স্ত্রী ও মেয়ের কাছ থেকে এখনও দূরেই আছেন কিশোর। আহসান কবির জানান, পরিবারের সব সদস্যের সঙ্গে কথা বলেছেন তিনি (কিশোর)। পুরোপুরি সুস্থ হয়ে উঠলে তার মেয়েকে তার কাছে নেওয়া হবে। তার মেয়ে এখন স্ত্রীর সঙ্গে ঢাকার বাইরে রয়েছে। আশা করছি, দ্রুত কিশোর পুরোপুরি সুস্থ হয়ে হাসপাতাল ছাড়বেন।

গত বৃহস্পতিবার মুক্ত হওয়ার পর ঢাকায় আইনজীবীর চেম্বারে বসে গণমাধ্যমের সঙ্গে কথা বলেছিলেন কিশোর। ওই সময় তিনি জানান, ২০২০ সালের ২ মে বিকেলে কাকরাইলের বাসা থেকে তাকে ধরে নেওয়া হয়েছিল। কারা নিয়েছিল, তা জানতে না পারলেও ৫ মে র‌্যাব হেফাজতে গিয়ে তিনি জানতে পারেন, তার বিরুদ্ধে ডিজিটাল নিরাপত্তা আইনে মামলা হয়েছে। মাঝের সময়টুকু কোথায় ছিলেন, তা না জানলেও ওই সময় তাকে দফায় দফায় নির্যাতন করা হয় বলে অভিযোগ করেন তিনি। কারাজীবনের ১০ মাসে সুচিকিৎসা পাননি বলেও জানান।

ওই সময় কিশোর জানান, র‌্যাব কার্যালয়ে যখন তার চোখের বাঁধন খোলা হয়, তখন তিনি সেখানে লেখক মুশতাক আহমেদকে দেখতে পান। তিনিও তাকে ভয়াবহ নির্যাতনের কথা জানান।

কিশোর বলেন, মুশতাকের শরীর থেকে প্রস্রাবের গন্ধ আসছিল। তাকেও কয়েকদিন আগে তুলে নিয়ে ব্যাপক নির্যাতন করা হয়েছিল বলে জানান। তার যৌনাঙ্গে বৈদ্যুতিক শক দেওয়া হয়েছিল। নির্যাতনের সময় তার মল বের হয়ে যায়। তিনি মেঝেতে থাকা পত্রিকা দিয়ে মুশতাককে তা পরিস্কার করতে বলেন।

পরদিন ৬ মে তাদের রমনা থানায় সোপর্দ করা হয় বলে জানান কিশোর। সেখানে তাদের সঙ্গে দেখা হয় দিদারুল ইসলাম ভূঁইয়ার সঙ্গে।

প্রসঙ্গত, গত বছর ৫ মে কার্টুনিস্ট কিশোর ও লেখক মুশতাক আহমেদকে গ্রেপ্তারের কথা জানায় র‌্যাব। পরদিন 'সরকারবিরোধী প্রচার ও গুজব ছড়ানোর' অভিযোগে ডিজিটাল নিরাপত্তা আইনে তাদের বিরুদ্ধে রমনা থানায় মামলা করা হয়। একই মামলায় দিদারসহ দু'জনকে গ্রেপ্তার দেখানো হয়। তারা পরে জামিনে মুক্ত হলেও কিশোর আর মুশতাকের জামিন হয়নি। ছয়বার জামিন আবেদন
